#FootyMisfits Ep. 106 - Balancing the Books feat. Steven Bank, Paul Hastings Professor of Business Law at UCLA School of Law

We have a special edition of The Football Misfits Podcast on tap! The good brothers are joined by Steven Bank, a Paul Hastings Professor of Business Law at the UCLA School of Law. A fan of FC Barcelona, Professor Bank breaks down the current financial state of the Catalan outfit while stressing that the club is "mortgaging their future" in an effort to stay afloat now. The California transplant by way of Ohio answers Ronny's and LV's questions on Barcelona legally being able to plead poverty when they aren't really poor, how much could the Super League have done to fix their woes, and how does this affect the club's other institutions (women's, B/La Masia, basketball teams, etc.) if at all. In addition to the conversation with Professor Bank, the guys share their thoughts on the opening weekend in Germany and England while looking ahead at the start of La Liga and Serie A. Lastly, BS of the Week is given to technology infiltrating footy and xenophobic club presidents. Interact with Professor Bank on Twitter @profbank and follow his courses and seminars at UCLA Law on International and Comparative Sports Law and Law, Lawyering, and the Beautiful Game. A special thank you to Kate Rosenberg of Sports Law Girl, who helped connect the #FootyMisfits with Professor Bank. Follow her blog and Instagram. Follow The Football Misfits on Instagram.
