For Brothers Extortion Racket Hits Brampton

Seventeen suspects linked to a brutal extortion ring targeting South Asian businesses and individuals in Peel Region have been arrested, with over 100 charges—including firearm offences and arson—uncovered. Authorities believe the group, known as For Brothers since 2025, may be connected to the infamous India-based Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, though that link remains unconfirmed. Community leaders in Brampton warn of widespread fear, with some entrepreneurs saying threats began as early as late 2022, forcing families to consider fleeing Canada. The World Sikh Organization stresses this is a targeted issue, urging against broad generalizations. Immigration and border agencies confirm they’re working with international partners to screen and investigate threats, aiming to restore safety and security for affected communities.
