For Such a Time as This | Esther | Come Follow Me Morning Meditation
from Come Follow Me Meditations · host Pondereth
Begin today knowing the room you are standing in is not an accident. A Come Follow Me morning meditation for August 3–9, "Thou Art Come . . . For Such a Time as This" (Esther, with Esther and Mordecai). This week we walk into a Persian palace in the city of Shushan, far from Jerusalem, where an orphaned Jewish girl named Esther has become queen of an empire that does not know who she is. Her cousin Mordecai — the man who raised her — sends word that her people need help, and that only she can go to the king. But no one may enter the inner court unbidden, and the king has not called for her in thirty days. Esther fasts for three days, puts on her royal apparel, and walks toward a door with no promise on the other side of it. God is never named once in the book of Esther. He is on every page. This morning you may notice your own door — the conversation you have rehearsed and not yet begun, the true word you have been holding back, the person placed near you for reasons you have not been told. Play this as you begin your day, before the demands of the morning rise, and let it settle you into one small act of trust. Scriptures: Esther Come, Follow Me lesson: "Thou Art Come . . .
