For years to come, racism and hate will flourish in Elk Grove and beyond

No elected official knows Elk Grove better than Sacramento County Supervisor Pat Hume. Before his current position, Mr. Hume was on the Elk Grove City Council for 16 years, making him the longest-serving council member.Commenting on a racist event in the city about 8 years ago, Hume, a longtime Elk Grove resident, noted the city's redneck heritage.
