On For Your Information this week, my guest is Brenda Myers, Executive Director, Hug-A-Tree-&-Kiss-A-Fish (HAT&KAF), who told listeners about some of the services and activities their organization provides, including “care backpacks” with blankets, food, for the homeless; cover cost of utilities for indigents; and their upcoming event based out of Conroe, HAT&KAF for special needs children. HAT&KAF is a three-day event for young people and their parents where expenses (food, drinks) are covered in an outdoor mini-camp with fishing, swimming, movies at night, campfires, music, First Nation dancers. Families need to provide their own tents although some are available through Academy. Also many celebrities such as Termite Watkins, Dan Pastorini, Booker T, Lance Dunbar, Texans Cheerleaders will be there to sign free autographs.
