Guest was Ashley Tompkins with Moody Gardens. We talked about the $37 million dollar Aquarium renovation, including several new, interactive exhibits highlighting the Gulf of Mexico, South Atlantic, South Pacific, North Pacific and Caribbean. Improvements also were made to the South Atlantic Penguin Habitat and South Pacific Biome. We talked about the new Humboldt Penguin Habitat, the Gulf of Mexico Rig Exhibit, a 19th-century rum-runner shipwreck replica based on Galveston pirate Jean Lafitte's ship. We talked about conservation, and the importance of artificial reefs.
