Guest was Betsy Ballard with the Houston Food Bank. We talked about the Food Bank’s immediate response to Hurricane Harvey, the transition to normalize operations, and long haul efforts to help those affected. We talked about the need for more distribution sites, funding and volunteers. We talked about the needs of families, children, and the elderly, as well as the difference between those that are food insecure, and truly hungry. We also talked about the increase of people who have never needed help before Harvey.
