Guest was Sally Bradford, Executive Director to the N. Houston Development Corp. We talked about the area of Houston known as Greenspoint. The N. Houston Development Corp. is a Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, or TIRZ. We talked about the history of the area, the challenges such as blight, crime, flooding and high-density housing and dilapidated apartments, and what the N Houston Development Corp has done to redevelop residential and commercial properties through financing of: water, wastewater and drainage facilities; new streets and street reconstruction; parks and trails systems; landscaping and streetscape; public art, retail development and public facilities.
