Foran at Jonathan Law - 11/23/17(Thanksgiving) - Week 12

A game that already had story lines abound, took on a greater meaning by the time the day was over. Foran Head Football coach Jeff Bevino announced his retirement from football after 43 years of success. Jonathan Law had not beaten Foran in 10 years. Also, The Lawmen had the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs for the FIRST TIME IN THE SCHOOL’S HISTORY! The Milford rivalry lived up to the hype as neither team would take a lead of more than one score! The Lawmen would take a 13-8 lead into halftime on the strength of 2 Michael Plaskon TD’s. The Lions of Foran would roar back on the first play of the 3rd quarter to give them a 14-13 lead. The teams would trade scores throughout the 2nd half as word spread that Holy Cross mounted a two touchdown comback to defeat Wolcott in Waterbury! The information gave the Lawmen new life as tied the score at 28 with 3 minutes left in the game! Michael Plaskon sensing the opportunity for history rushes for his 3rd TD of the game with about a minute left, clinching not only the 34-28 victory, but the first ever playoff berth in the 50 + year history of Jonathan Law High School!
