Ford celebrates history of law enforcement vehicles

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. The folks at Ford are marking another milestone….the 75th year of producing vehicles for law enforcement. The company’s Heritage Brand Manager, Ted Ryan, says there have been iconic police cars like the Crown Victorias…and more recently the Ford Explorers… “Probably my favorite, though, Fred, is the souped up Mustang with a 5 liter engine that the California Highway Patrol bought in the mid 80s. We actually did an ad that said this car chases Porsches for a living. And because of the number of sports cars that were entering the California market, the police wanted something that could chase them down.
