Ford Shifts Tone After Trump Clash | Calgary News

Ontario Premier Doug Ford flipped his script from fiery insult to diplomatic overture after a heated exchange with President Trump. Yesterday, Ford called Trump a “loser” and even told him to “kiss my ass” in response to a personal jab about his late sibling. But today, he’s hitting American news networks, apologizing for the heat and pushing for a deal that benefits both nations—Canada’s biggest trading partner. Amid escalating tariffs and suspended trade talks, Ford is trying to cool tensions while defending Ontario’s interests. He’s set to appear on major U.S. outlets, emphasizing unity and economic cooperation, even as Canada prepares to retaliate with its own tariffs starting September 8th.
