Forgiveness

Close relationships bring warmth, but people also wound one another. Jesus overturns the urge to balance the scales by calling for grace towards those who cause harm. Forgiveness does not pretend that harm costs nothing. Jesus bore the cost of sin for people who rejected Him, and His forgiveness makes costly forgiveness of others possible.
