FORGIVENESS: The Power of Indwelling Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a powerful TRUTH in the Bible. It is one of the most beautiful words in the human vocabulary and is best illustrated by God’s forgiveness of sin THROUGH His Son. When someone sins against us, they bear a terrible guilt. Likewise, when we refuse to forgive a wrong, we become part of the problem - we become a part of their sin.Forgiveness is not only important for our spiritual well-being, but it also has a positive impact on our physical and emotional health. Studies have shown that forgiveness can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve overall well-being. However, the greatest benefit is it releases us to walk in and through the Holy Spirit. Thus, causing us to walk in completeness in Christ.The Bible teaches us that forgiveness is not just a one-time act but a continuous process. We are called to forgive others as we have been forgiven by God, through Christ, via the Holy Spirit. This means that we must be willing to forgive even when it is difficult or painful.Here are some Bible verses that highlight the importance of forgiveness:“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13).“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” (Mark 11:25).“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
