FORGIVING AS CHRIST FORGAVE

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Scripture: Colossians 3:13 "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Forgiveness is at the very heart of the gospel. When Christ forgave us, He did so completely, unconditionally, and at great personal cost. Paul’s call in Colossians reminds us that the same grace we’ve received is the grace we must extend to others. Forgiving others doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing the wrong done—it means choosing love over resentment. It’s releasing the grip of bitterness and trusting God to heal and restore what’s been broken. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is always freeing. When we forgive as Christ forgave, we reflect His nature and demonstrate the transforming power of the cross. We break cycles of pain and allow peace to reign in our hearts and relationships. True forgiveness is not based on whether the person deserves it, but on our response to God's mercy toward us. Today, ask yourself: Is there someone I need to forgive today? How can I reflect Christ’s love in my response to those who have hurt me? Prayer: AlmightyFather, thank You for the immeasurable forgiveness I have received through Jesus. Help me to forgive others as You have forgiven me. Heal my heart, remove bitterness, and teach me to walk in grace and compassion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
