FORGIVING AS GOD FORGIVES!

Scripture: Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Devotional Message Forgiveness is one of the greatest expressions of God's love toward us. Through Christ, God forgave our sins, not because we deserved it, but because of His grace and mercy. In the same way, He calls us to forgive others—not based on their worthiness, but as an act of obedience and love. Forgiving as God forgives means: 1. Forgiving Freely – God does not hold our past mistakes against us. When we repent, He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). We are called to extend this same grace to others, letting go of grudges and bitterness. 2. Forgiving Compassionately – True forgiveness comes from a heart of compassion. Just as God understands our weaknesses, we should seek to understand others and extend mercy, even when they have hurt us. 3. Forgiving Completely – When God forgives, He does not bring up our sins again. Likewise, our forgiveness should not be partial or conditional. We must release the offense fully and trust God to heal any pain. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is necessary for spiritual growth and peace. Holding onto unforgiveness only burdens our hearts and hinders our relationship with God. When we choose to forgive, we reflect Christ’s love and allow His grace to work through us. Reflection Question Is there someone you need to forgive today? Ask God for the strength to release the hurt and extend grace, just as He has done for you. Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for the undeserved forgiveness You have given me through Christ. Help me to extend the same grace to others, letting go of resentment and choosing love. Fill my heart with Your compassion and teach me to forgive as You forgive. In Jesus’ name, Amen. May God’s peace fill your heart as you walk in forgiveness!
