Forgotten Fairytales

In this installation of Forgotten Fairytales, we explore neglected 19th century writer Mary de Morgan and one of her stories. The Toy Princess follows a princess who grew up away from her kingdom, returning to discover that her father has replaced her with an enchanted, wooden look-alike. What's more, the people of the kingdom much prefer this living doll–– that is complacent and quiet––to the real princess, who has real emotions and opinions.
