(Luke 17:11-13) (NIV) Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us! (Luke 17:14) (NIV) When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.   (Luke 17:15) (NIV) One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. (Luke 17:17-18) (NIV) Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”   Will you be the one?   Ungrateful Mindset:   1.    I Want it Now (Commercial)   (Luke 15:11-12)(NIV) Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’   2.    I Deserve More   (Luke 15:29)(NIV) But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends.   Exposing Any Ungratefulness:   1.    Material or Financial 2.     Relational   3.    Circumstantial   How can I develop an attitude of gratitude?    1.    Turn blessings into praise (Job 1:20-22) (NIV) At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.   2.    Turn resentment into contentment    (Philippians 4:13) (NIV) I can do all this through him who gives me strength.   (Philippians 4:13) (NIV) I can do all this through him who gives me strength.   (Philippians 4:11) (NIV) …I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.   (Philippians 4:12) (NIV) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.   It’s time to stop living with resentment and learn to live with contentment.   (Ecclesiastes 6:9) (NLT) …Enjoy what you have rather than desiring what you don’t have.
