from TODAY'S TAKE · host Kraznys

Former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Chief Medical Officer Debra Houry told senators she quit after a decade at the agency because she said her role had been reduced to “rubber stamps” under Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.“Secretary Kennedy censored CDC science, politicized its processes and stripped leaders of independence,” Houry said Wednesday during her opening statements at the Senate Health Committee’s oversight hearing on the CDC. “I could not in good conscience remain under those conditions.” Houry said the aim of her testimony was to provide “real examples of the damage CDC is experiencing” and press Congress for fixes.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/today-s-take--6662936/support.
