Former Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo, says he is doubtful whether Parliament had put in place measures to prevent corruption from taking place, as per the recommendations from the Zondo commission. He delivered the keynote address at the four day 15th Commonwealth Regional conference for heads of Anti Corruption Agencies in Africa, taking place in Cape Town. Zondo chaired the commission of inquiry into state capture, from 2018 to 2022. Among others, the commission found that Parliament failed in its duty to effectively hold the executive accountable during the period of state capture. Addressing delegates today, Zondo reflected on whether the country's fight against corruption is better than before the commission or not. He added that he is doubtful whether Parliament has made progress to introduce measures to strengthen anti corruption systems... Zalene Merrington reports
