from Midday · host WYPR 88.1 FM Baltimore

A sentencing hearing for Marilyn Mosby, a former two-term Baltimore State’s Attorney, was held today in a federal court in Greenbelt. Mosby was convicted of perjury and mortgage fraud in February. Debbie Hines joined Midday to discuss the latest. She is a former prosecutor and trial attorney, and the author of Get Off My Neck: Black Lives, White Justice, and a Former Prosecutor’s Quest for Reform. Update: This afternoon, following today's Midday, our news partner the Baltimore Banner reported on the sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby. She cited Mosby’s role as a mother of two and her public and personal fall from grace among the reasons for varying from the sentencing guidelines, which had called for a sentence between 12 and 18 months.Email us at [email protected], tweet us: @MiddayWYPR, or call us at 410-662-8780.
