Frederick Reynolds is the author of "Black, White, and Gray All Over: A Black Man's Odyssey in Life and Law Enforcement." The book covers Reynolds beginnings in Detroit in the 1960s to policing some of the most dangerous areas of California in the 1980s. He is a retired  LA County Sheriff homicide investigator.
