Former NJ cop charged with sexually assaulting teen girl

A retired South Jersey cop has been arrested after authorities say he sexually assaulted a teenage girl. Prosecutors say 67-year-old Louis Baselice of Maple Shade is charged with sexual assault and child endangerment. According to officials, Baselice, who worked for the Haddonfield Police Department, also bought the victim an electric scooter and cellphone, and gave her his credit card number to order food. An investigation began after acquaintances of the victim reported the alleged abuse. Baselice is in custody awaiting a detention hearing.
