Former Participant Series - Episode 277: The Choice is Mine - The Pain of My Addiction or The Pain of Seeking Help? with Andy

from Success is Subjective: Real People. Raw Stories. Embracing a Non-Linear Life! · host Joanna Lilley, MA, NCC

On this episode of Success is Subjective, Joanna brings you another story from our special former participant series where she extends the opportunity for former participants who feel comfortable sharing their journey with others. Today’s former participant is Andy. Currently in grad school, pursuing his master’s degree in social work, it took Andy’s own recovery for him to gain a clear vision for what he wanted to do with his life. Andy explains how a chronic health issue led to a massive decline in his mental health, which then led him to try to cope as best as he knew how at the time. While wilderness therapy was challenging at times, Andy encourages listeners when assessing their own lives, to consider if it’s more painful to stay stuck, or more painful to make a hard, but healing change. He also tells of a very promising healing modality that worked so exceptionally well for him, that he almost couldn’t believe it. This episode is sure to stir hope and inspiration, as well as challenge listeners to assess their own perspective of pain, mindset and outcomes. NOTE: The podcasts in this series can include sensitive subjects such as suicide, self-harm, substance abuse, hospitalizations, psychotic episodes, and other traumatic experiences which include parts of the treatment journey. No topic is off limits and not all stories are positive but they are real, raw, and transparent.**Listener discretion is advised**Andy’s Resources:Cornerstones of Maine Man’s Search for Meaning Connect with Joanna Lilley  Therapeutic Consulting AssociationLilley Consulting WebsiteLilley Consulting on Facebook Lilley Consulting on YouTubeEmail [email protected]#therapeuticconsulting #lilleyconsulting #successful #youngadults #therapeuticprograms #therapy #mentalhealth #podcast #podcastcommunity #studentmentalhealth #thejourney #successissubjectivepodcast #theunpavedroad #pfcaudiovideo #wildernesstherapy #wildernesstherapyworks #sobriety #sobrietyjourney #additionrecovery #substanceusedisorder #recoveryispossible
