Former police chief appointed to merit commission

from Box Elder News Journal's Podcast

The Box Elder County Commission appointed former Brigham City Police Chief Michael Nelson to the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office Merit Commission on July 7. The three-member commission administers the sheriff’s office merit system, including rules governing appointments and procedures for employee appeals and grievances. Nelson will fill the remainder of the term vacated by Danny Earl, who resigned after about two years on the commission because of family circumstances, Commissioner Lee Perry said. Perry said he spoke with Nelson, citing his law enforcement experience and describing him as “a great choice and a great replacement.” Article Link
