Former University of Kentucky Cheerleader Charged With 1st Degree Manslaughter

A grand jury has indicted 22-year-old Laken Snelling with the much more serious charge of first degree manslaughter for the death of her newborn baby last August. Police initially charged the college senior with lesser counts of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence after finding the body of her newborn hidden in a black trash bag in Snelling’s closet.
