Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel
from Amanpour · host CNN Podcasts
Two high-stakes meetings are scheduled at the White House today, as President Trump meets with Ukraine's President Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, both in town for Senator Lindsey Graham's funeral. For the Israeli leader, the Washington reception today will be very different to the last. Rahm Emanuel, formerly a US ambassador to Japan, a White House chief of staff, and a congressman, has been a longtime supporter of Israel. He himself volunteered to serve in the IDF. But he now says the US should not provide its long-time ally with unconditional military aid, arguing they should be treated like any other country. Emanuel joins the program from Chicago. Also on today's show: environmentalist Bill McKibben; translator Emily Wilson ("The Odyssey") Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
