"Forsaken Influence" [Sea 5 / Ep 12]

from Deeper In The Word · host Reverend Adrian L Robinson II

Man o’ man do we have a VERY SPECIAL episode in store for you this week! You see, this installment of “Deeper in the Word’ just so happens to drop during Black History Month! So in honor of that celebration, we present to you an episode about the hidden – or “forsaken” - contributions of Africa and Africans or Black people IN AND TO the Bible and to Christianity. Why are these contributions “forsaken”? Because history has either inadvertently or deliberately disregarded them and failed to teach us about them in our schools and educational systems. So we’ve set out to “set the record straight”, if you will, about the MANY influences which the continent of Africa – and Black people in general – have made to our faith throughout biblical history. So come learn about shattering misconceptions and myths held in the Black community for AGES; about reasons why Cush is significant and famous which have NOTHING to do with smoking; and how MANY of the early church fathers were Black men and you didn’t even KNOW it! Don’t miss this special, informative (and potentially controversial) episode! [**NOTE: during this episode, RevRob inadvertently refers to the Septuagint as the translation of Hebrew to Latin; it is actually the translation of Hebrew to Greek….we apologize for this oversight, as it was an unintentional slip of the tongue**]
