Fosterpedia Origins
from Fosterpedia · host Renaissance Scholars Students
In the Spring of 2020, Renaissance Scholars participated in National Foster Care Awareness month, a period set aside in May to recognize the many individuals, families, agencies and communities that support children in foster care nationally. During this campaign, a global pandemic forced society to a standstill. Colleges were shutdown, we learned of a new term called “social distancing”, and the Floyd Riots brought civil rights back to the forefront. Renaissance Scholar students create community through podcasts, newsletters, and blogs as a way to connect with each other during a time of great uncertainty. Fosterpedia is here to raise awareness about foster care through experiences from the voices of former foster youth themselves!
