Foundations of Wellness for the Holiday Season and beyond

from Wilder Wellness · host Kristen Ales, LPC + Kristin Mathes, LCSW

Let’s get back to the basics! Because let’s face it, wellness can feel really overwhelming with so many opinions and ideas on what we should be doing in order to be “healthy.” While wellness routines and activities look different from person to person, this week we are discussing the 4 basic foundations including sleep, nutrition, stress management, and social connection as the keys for setting yourself up for success throughout the holiday season and beyond. We discuss the importance of having boundaries around these foundations and how quickly things tend to go ary when we do not. We hope that this episode can be a reminder to not overcomplicate things when it comes to our wellness routines and a gentle return back to our foundation.  In this episode we discuss: Kristen introduces the 4 foundations of wellness including sleep, nutrition, stress management, and social connection and we discuss the importance of each pillar. Kristen and Kristin share more about their own personal relationships with each of these building blocks We explore the importance of managing boundaries around these wellness foundations and some tips on how to do so especially around the holidays.   We often overlook the basics of wellness and when we are not maintaining our foundations it often lends to larger, more complicated mental or physical health issues.  You can learn more about the hosts Kristen Ales, LPC, and Kristin Mathes, LCSW by visiting their websites.
