from Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino · host Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino - Profiling the Finest Folks from Everywhere

Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series. In this episode, we talk with Diane Kahn, Founding Member and Executive Director of Humans of San Quentin. Over the last seven years, Diane has volunteered at San Quentin State Prison, helping incarcerated men earn their high school diplomas. Deeply moved by their vulnerability and emotional intelligence, she felt a profound responsibility to share their stories with the outside world. Through the Humans of San Quentin project, Diane and her team share the lives of thousands of incarcerated people through letters, art, and poetry. By conducting face-to-face interviews with people in prisons worldwide, they make sure these individuals feel seen, heard, and connected beyond prison walls. Every story told has the power to transform both the storyteller and the listener. From her San Francisco base, Diane brings unstoppable dedication to helping victims and offenders heal, grow, and transform their lives. In this conversation, we dive into her mission, the impact of storytelling, and the human resilience found inside prison walls.
