We premiere new music from Scottish hardgroove mechanic Arta Fact as he joins French imprint Thump Out Traxx for their sixth VA release. ‘Connection’ is a high-octane techno tool that is oozing with classic dub-techno flavour while also remaining funk-fuelled & playful. Parisian label Thump Out Traxx have been riding high within recent years, releasing a number of esteemed VA’s with music coming from David Moleon, DJ Ogi, Balrog, Isaiah, Concrete DJz, The Chronics and more. Label bosses Bours? & OFFËNSIV have long been pushing a groove focussed brand of techno, representing a new sound from the French capital. Their latest VA offering see’s music from Arta Fact, Bours?, Jon10, Loskatt, Outer909, & West Code. The EP pays homage to the mid 00’s style of techno that swept through Europe, yet takes massive influence from Latin sounds, often finding the style referred to as tribal techno or as Ben Sims coined it, Hardgroove. Jarring percussion, unapologetic filter-sweeps, cheeky vocal chops, and funk-laced basslines are on display here. We premiere ‘Connection’ from one of the most exciting names in Scottish techno, Arta Fact. His latest offering is a bouncing 00’s inspired techno cut, that show’s his fascination with classic dub techno, as he leans into etheral soundscapes. The youngster keeps his foot firmly on the pedal on this one, ramping up the speed, and layering his latest offering with pummelling bass grooves and 90’s style stabs & vocal chops.
