Four Four Premiere: Chaz Moloney - NPK NRG

Our second premiere of the day showcases a stunning, hypnotic techno track from Irish stalwart, Chaz Moloney. His latest EP titled 'Detuned Thoughts for Expansion' is made up of four killer cuts from the Limerick-based DJ, producer and promoter while we have the pleasure of showcasing his high-octane composition, 'NPK NRG'. Chaz Moloney has been at the helm of Limericks' techno scene for a number of years. This includes the running of Touch Of Techno as well as one-half of the esteemed electronic music duo Midweek with David Sheerin, resulting in an impressive full-time career in dance music. Having had great success with Midweek releases thus far, Chaz’s willingness to release new music under his own name slowed down, as the Limerick native wanted to craft an idiosyncratic sound that portrayed his music in an idiosyncratic light with banging intent. It gives us great joy to showcase some of Charlie's latest musical endeavours as a solo artist with his 'Detuned Thoughts for Expansion' EP. NPK NRG holds a primary focus on forward-thinking dance music which is something that Chaz has spent a considerable amount of time tweaking over the years and the results are as impressive as they come. When asked about this release, Chaz mentioned said that 'I made this 4-track techno EP in my studio in Limerick city over the past number of months following up from my debut ep on Otomo Trax back in December. The EP's title "Detuned Thoughts For Expansion" is an attempt at illustrating the struggle with men's mental health in Ireland and the constant room for improvement here. The 4 tracks range from loopy hypnotic pieces to more old-school inspired techno. I was lucky enough to be able to test out the tracks in Dolans Warehouse & Pharmacia while making this project and was really impressed with their impact on the dance floor. The tracks are all built with the dancefloor in mind and I look forward to sharing more of my music in the coming weeks and months ahead!'
