Four Four Premiere: OAKLEE - Back Against The Wall [Sounds of Lava Lava]

Today we premiere a debut label release from Dublin DJ and producer, OAKLEE. The up and coming producer has been feverishly honing his craft under the watchful eye of Dublin Don, Pusher in Camden Academy. Glasgow based label Sounds of Lava Lava continues its fine run of form with four sublime house cuts from Finglas producer OAKLEE. It’s hard to believe this is Aaron Shaw’s debut release under his OAKLEE moniker; his deftly produced tracks intertwine club-focussed elements, resonant bass lines, deep grooves and delicate melodies. Back Against The Wall is a perfect showcase of Aaron’s style & influences. The title track Back Against The Wall, which we premiere today opens the EP straight into the dance floor, with bouncing bass, driving percussion and sweeping pads. Classic House piano rolls float throughout the track before emphatically dropping in to provide a huge burst of energy. Golden Hour follows up with a playful yet deep sound. Thumping kicks lead into warm bass lines and wandering synth lines while chirping keys intertwine with beautiful organic melodies. On the flip side, In Real Time balances the EP with a real Italian Dream House energy perfect for sunrise or sunset. Delicate atmospherics swirl alongside soft pads, resonating bass, bubbling arpeggiated synthesisers and a hypnotising xylophone hook. OAKLEE’s Ambient Mix of In Real Time strips back the percussion to give more emphasis on the finely crafted elements of this gem.
