We premiere new music from Bristol-based Ohm Collider as he joins Off-Switch Audio for a four-track EP. We feature ‘Fundamental Frequnecy’ a sci-fi focussed club tool that shows Ohm Colliders’ ability to match rubbery synth lines across the face of punishing crooked drum grooves. Off-Switch Audio welcomes Bristol-based producer Ohm Collider to the label with a four-track EP for the label’s next release in 2023. Ohm Collider has been making a name for himself across the Bristol scene, holding down a monthly residency on 1020 Radio while also co-running Area Code, a local grassroots club night and listening session. The young producer has also appeared on Moon Rack, a multi-genre digital imprint. These four tracks are all under 140 bpm and explore melodic and club-focused styles with distinct characteristic sounds. Ohm Collider takes a unique approach to music and art, heavily inspired by sounds around him, blurring the lines between sound design and off-kilter soundscapes to create an idiosyncratic palette of tempering sounds. Drawing inspiration from Skee Mask, Ross From Friends, Djrum, and Tom VR, the young producer takes influences from various corners, yet molds them into an individualistic slice of a forward-thinking club focussed bombs. We premiere ‘Fundamental Frequnecy’ a slippery slice of synth-driven club futurism. Backdrops of spacey atmospheric swells and effects play alongside robotic vocal chops and intense sub-sucker punches. ‘Fundamental Frequency lies halfway between Bristol and Mars, fogging the bridge between dancefloors and spacecrafts.
