Four Four Premiere: Pagan - First Of The Season [AK Sports Remix]

Today's premiere is a breathtaking remix from AK Sports, as she put her own spin on Pagan's newest track from his mini EP release titled 'First Of The Season'. Sports does a fantastic job at putting her own spin on Pagan's interpretation of the tune, as she delves deeper into more melodic areas of the original. She introduces an array of chopped up breaks and slamming kick-drums too, making this remix entirely her own. Pagan's latest mini EP titled 'First Of The Season' sees him release two killer cuts, as he welcomes AK Sports onto the release for remix duties. After having a massive last few months performing at Life Festival, Otherside Festival and Electric Picnic's Anachronica, while performing at some massive Index and Centre Point shows with his Leeds debut taking place this evening. It's safe to say that this has been Pagan's biggest year yet. He welcomes AK Sports onto the release, tasking her with remix duties and she does not disappoint. Sports is liable for pioneering nu-rave with high NRG sets that explore a multitude of genres that range from (but are not limited to) beefy breaks, deep-cut bass and exhilarating blends of techno. This frenzy of sound can not only be heard throughout her sets but also within her immensely impressive productions too. This remix is no different, as she does a terrific job showcasing her distinct production style when flipping Pagan’s interpretation of ‘First Of The Season’. Sports focuses on the melodic components of the original while encompassing chopped up breaks, slamming kick-drums and most notably, her own vocals, which goes hand in hand with the distorted version of the pads. This is a warehouse ready version of the original. Although conversely, it can be said that it is fit for dark, sweaty basements too, which makes for ideal, frantic listening.
