Fox News Andrew O'Reilly interviewed Mark Henkel - Sept 2019

from National Polygamy Advocate · host Mark Henkel

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed for Fox News by Andrew O'Reilly, on September 4, 2019.  Earlier that week, Utah State Senator Deidre Hederson announced that she would be proposing a new bill in the coming January 2020 session to reduce the crime of polygamy from a felony to an infraction (i.e., equivalent to a parking ticket).  The purpose of the proposed bill would be to empower polygamists to feel safe from prosecution to report real crimes without fear of their families being jailed and separated.  This interview sought Mark Henkel's "take" on this proposed bill.  While being hopeful, he intentionally lowered expectations with pessimism by explaining the larger problem of that geographic area: the religiocentric "Mormonland Bubble" of Utah/Arizona (et al) does not believe in "separation of church and state."  Mark Henkel explained how those ("Mormonland") State governments and nedia all obey the dictates the "mainstream" LDS institution by purposely and always refusing to accurately identify the differentiation of "Mormon polygamy" (from other polygamy) only because the LDS  institution dictates that "no one" (government or media) may use the adjective "Mormon" in news reporting about Mormon polygamists (et al) to actually be accurate.  This concise interview succinctly provides a detailed short-history of the anti-polygamy from the 1800s, the federal subterfuge that bypassed the 10th Amendment prohibition of Marriage Control, the modern Supreme Court decisions that would overturn anti-polygamy laws, and more.  Citing examples that no no one would criminalize all dieters because of Karen Carpenter, criminalize all teachers because of Mary Kay Letourneau, or criminalize all football coaches because of Jerry Sandusky, Mark Henkel showed the fallacy how it makes no sense to criminalize all UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, because of cults or criminals.  This interview also includes a number of powerful soundbites, including, "When you GENERALIZE to CRIMINALIZE, you TYRANNIZE."   (NOTE: The bill did successfully pass in both houses of the Utah State Legislature in March 2020, got signed by the Utah Governor, and was set to be effective on May 12, 2020.) http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com
