Framework for Prayer

How does the Bible tell us to pray? In this episode Rylee breaks down the framework for prayer, the Lord's Prayer, which Jesus taught to his disciples. The Lord's Prayer consists of seven petitions that address God's authority, provision, forgiveness, protection, guidance, and glory. It is found in the Bible in the book of Matthew, chapter 6, verse 9-13. This framework should be incorporated for all prayers.  Key takeaways: Honor God as the father and creator of all, and ask that his name be revered and respected. Express a desire for God's rule to be established on Earth, and for his will to be followed by all. Ask for God's provision and sustenance for the day. Acknowledges human sinfulness and ask for forgiveness, while also committing to forgiving others. Ask for God's protection and guidance, and for deliverance from temptation and evil. Acknowledges God's sovereignty and power, and gives him glory. "Amen," at the end of the prayer is used as a sign of agreement and assent, meaning "so be it" or "truly."
