WHAT WILL THE AUDIENCE LEARN? The audience will see the essence of how the U.S. government prioritizes technological advancement, capitalism and consumer safety over the basics of healthcare, including access to treatment, caregiving and quality of life. They will learn how intellectual property laws impose these priorities to both the benefit and detriment of patients and stakeholders, and in doing so, impact the healthcare system. A more complete picture of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, testing, and health-tech emerges from a deeper understanding of intellectual property as a driver behind the industry.
