Frankreichs Präsident Emmanuel Macron hat das Rücktrittsgesuch von Premierminister Gabriel Attal nun doch angenommen. Die Regierung soll trotzdem geschäftsführend im Amt bleiben, bis eine neue Regierung gefunden ist. Eine Frist hat Macron dafür nicht bestimmt. Als Sieger aus der Wahl hervorgegangen war das Linksbündnis aus Sozialisten, Grünen, Linken und Kommunisten. Die aber können sich auf keinen Kandidaten für das Amt des Premierministers einigen. Frankreichkorrespondentin Annika Joeres erklärt im Podcast, warum. CDU-Chef Friedrich Merz schließt eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht auf Landesebene nicht mehr aus. Im September finden in Thüringen, Sachsen und Brandenburg Landtagswahlen statt. Eine Mehrheitsbildung ohne die AfD und die Linkspartei, wie sie CDU-Parteitagsbeschlüsse vorsehen, wäre dort nur unter Einbeziehung des BSW möglich. Sahra Wagenknecht hingegen bleibt zurückhaltend: Eine Koalition auf Landesebene hält sie sogar für schädlich.
