Free (From The Power of) Money | The Slavery of Money - Matthew 6:19-24 - Clint Leavitt

This week, we chart an exploration of Jesus' teachings on money and treasure as it challenges us to examine our relationship with wealth and possessions. The sermon focuses on Matthew 6:19-24, where Jesus warns against storing up treasures on earth and encourages us to store up treasures in heaven instead. We're confronted with the stark reality that money often enslaves us through lies and blindness, causing us to chase after false security and happiness. The message draws fascinating parallels between our cultural obsession with wealth and the spiritual dangers it poses, reminding us that 'where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.' As we reflect on our own spending habits and attitudes towards money, we're invited to consider how we might relocate our treasure to align with God's kingdom values. This shift isn't just about belief, but about truly treasuring Christ and embracing His self-giving generosity in our own lives.
