Free Help For Builders With New DOE Program

On September 11, the U.S. Department of Energy launched a new initiative called Building America New Construction Support program. The stated goal is pretty simple. Help builders build faster, reduce costs, and deliver lower-cost, higher-quality buildings. The program is available to residential, commercial, and industrial builders, and it connects participants directly with technical experts from the Department of Energy and the U.S. National Laboratories. According to the Department of Energy, the time and cost required to construct new housing, commercial buildings, data centers, and factories have become barriers to meeting demand. The new program is designed to address specific technical problems that builders are encountering in the field. A builder can bring a particular challenge to the Department of Energy, and DOE will attempt to match that company with subject matter experts who have the expertise to help solve it. And there is an important feature here. The technical assistance comes at no direct cost to the builder. This is not a grant program where the federal government is funding the construction project itself.
