Free Soccer for Kids in KC | Kansas City Royals News

The Kansas City Current just launched a free youth soccer league in Northeast Kansas City, giving 120 kids ages 8 to 10 full gear—including Nike cleats—without a dime out of pocket for families. Partnering with CVS Health, U.S. Soccer, and United Way, the initiative slashes costs that often keep kids out of sports, while also paying coaches and training teens to become referees. It’s not just about kicks and goals—it’s building community, empowering families, and sparking a movement that could inspire other teams to follow suit.
