Free Speech Consequences: After Charlie Kirk’s Death

This episode dives into the free speech consequences emerging in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death: how various government bodies, employers, and public figures are responding to speech that mocks, celebrates, or criticizes the tragedy. We explore the tension between accountability and expression, when does criticism cross a line, what protections (or lack thereof) speech contributors have, and how "cancel culture" becomes part of the debate. Listeners will gain insight into how society balances free speech and consequence in a moment of political polarization and grief.Sourceshttps://abcnews.go.com/US/operate-independent-agency-laura-loomers-pressure-campaigns-reshaping/story?id=124285112https://apnews.com/article/kirk-trump-cancel-culture-assassination-4d69649e382ea46d8dcf794150a1d3c9https://www.axios.com/2025/09/11/charlie-kirk-shooting-immigrants-state-departmenthttps://www.axios.com/2025/09/15/ilhan-omar-charlie-kirk-censure-nancy-mace https://www.axios.com/2025/09/16/charlie-kirk-free-speech-firings-trump https://www.denver7.com/politics/the-president/state-department-is-denying-visas-to-those-who-celebrate-charlie-kirks-death-rubio-says https://www.foxnews.com/politics/pentagon-suspends-army-colonel-celebrating-charlie-kirk-deathhttps://www.govexec.com/management/2025/09/federal-agencies-threaten-discipline-employees-criticizing-or-mocking-charlie-kirk/408091/ https://newrepublic.com/post/200326/maga-rep-clay-higgins-charlie-kirk-death-first-amendmenthttps://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5506688-trump-administration-charlie-kirk/https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/09/vp-vance-administration-leaders-honor-charlie-kirks-enduring-legacy/ https://www.wired.com/story/charlie-kirk-art-censorship/https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/maga-doxing-war-over-charlie-192542060.htmlhttps://x.com/brad_polumbo/status/1967376189049450884https://x.com/BulwarkOnline/status/1967754339612758178 https://x.com/DrChaseSpears/status/1966889070245855616 https://x.com/JDVance/status/1967659982507372822 https://x.com/KurtSchlichter/status/1966827955687931974 https://x.com/TheFIREorg/status/1967770321445871656
