Free-Text Friday: The Apocrypha in the Liturgy

Most people know that our beloved liturgy is really nothing more than hearing God speak to us through his word, while we respond in prayer and praise—also through his word! The Lutheran Service Book does a good job of showing from where in the Bible each part of our liturgy comes. But did you know that some parts you recite on Sunday come from the Apocrypha?
