Ezekiel 18:21-22 ESV" “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. [22] None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. No matter how sinful, rebellious, defiant, or broken my past has been, there is still hope for me through Jesus Christ. No one is beyond the reach of God's mercy. When I repent of my sins, surrender my life to the Lord, and allow the Holy Spirit to direct my thoughts, words, and actions, God forgives my sins, transforms my heart, and gives me a new life. My past is no longer held against me because Christ has paid the penalty for my sins. I do not stand before God because of my own righteousness, for my righteousness cannot save me. Instead, I am covered by the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, I am justified by faith and receive the promise of eternal life. I no longer look back with regret or remain in the darkness of my former life. Instead, I look forward with hope, walking in the light of Christ and seeking to do the will of God each day.
