Freed from Selfishness - Fr. Micah - April 2, 2023

Today is the fifth Sunday of Lent. The Gospel reading comes to us from Mark 10:32-45. Jesus speaks clearly to His apostles, telling them He will be condemned to death, mocked, spit upon, scourged, killed, and after three days, rise. The apostles' reaction to His news is selfishness, thinking only of themselves. Father Micah shares how Our Lord can take our failures and misunderstandings and transform them into good. Jesus says if we want to be great, we must become servants. Even He came to serve and not be served. Through humility, we can escape the prison of self-love into the promised land of love for God and neighbor
