289: Freedom From Sin (Dave)

What does true freedom actually cost, and why do so many people remain trapped even when the door to their cage is wide open? Dave explores how Christ's sacrifice provides genuine liberation from the endless cycle of trying to balance good works against sin - a futile effort that keeps us enslaved to performance-based religion. But here's the puzzling part: even after understanding what Jesus accomplished on the cross, why do believers often walk right back into that same cage of spiritual bondage? Using vivid analogies of chained elephants and caged squirrels, this discussion reveals the "learned helplessness" that prevents us from stepping into the abundant life that's already been purchased for us. Will you have the courage to walk through the door that Christ flung open? Recorded Sunday, July 6th, 2025
