Progress is not inevitable. Hard earned freedom is easily lost. Every generation must learn this lesson. Freedom may be our birthright, but we always have to fight for our inheritance. The surest way to lose it is to worry only about me and mine, to forget the lessons of the past, to live today with no thought of the tomorrow we are building today. If we want a better world, we are going to have to fight for it and then keep fighting for it even when we think we have it.
