I don't know if we actually decided that we were just talking about here in the US or globally. But there's some interesting stats, I think that would help put things in context. context, the US is approximately 5% of the world population, yet we have 25% of the world's prison population. That population has increased 700% since the 80s. And that's around the time when mandatory sentencing kind of kicked in. So what were the big things that you guys saw? Like? I mean, I guess the question I was thinking about first is like, why why do we imprison people? what's the what's the base reasoning for that?
