Freedom Sunday

from Doctrine and Devotion · host Joe Thorn & Jimmy Fowler

Happy 4th of July, suckas! In light of our national holiday falling on a Thursday release of the podcast, it seemed appropriate for the guys discuss the recent “Freedom Sunday” that went down at FBC Dallas. This is not the Freedom Sunday associated with International Justice Mission that deals with the modern slave trade, but this Freedom Sunday. Think American flags and fireworks. Why do Jimmy and Joe have a problem with this Freedom Sunday? Do they hate America? What theological beef do the guys have with tweaking corporate worship in this way? Despite their problems with Freedom Sunday, they encourage everyone to evaluate their own worship gatherings with an eye to honoring our Triune God. Plus, Jimmy is headed to UFC 239 in Vegas, and Joe is not. For all the links and show notes visit www.doctrineanddevotion.com/podcast/freedomsunday
